No DirectX 10 yet ?

Well , as a few of us i had the pre access program that i downloaded 2 days ago ,and today i was able to patch the game for the final installation .

Thing is , when i launched the game , i went straight to my video options and was able to change the resolution , textures , etc etc , but i had only the DirectX 9 option .

I exit the game , go into Simple config , i switch to directx 10 from there , but hell now the game is not even launching. Will we have to wait may 20 to get the full directX 10 support ?

As far as I know DX10 is not implimented yet. Neither is the cheetah 2 program, nor is the game SLI compatible atm. As far as a date to all these ive "heard through the grapevine" that the cheetah 2 engine should be active at release. As far as DX10 and SLI I dont know but "my hope" is that they will be included with the cheetah 2 engine.

I wouldn't worry about it too much at the moment. The people in the open beta saw how the games was before the cheetah 2 and then once it was patched saw how smooth it ran after. I think Funcom know what they are doing on this and if they don't have cheetah 2 and DX10 running at release it won't be long till its patched up.

good point popa. Even w/o chetah 2 and sli etc when i was running in closed w/o the debugger in the background it ran very smooth.

It seems Funcom are giving us the 'minimum' to be able to play the 3 days before release. I guess il have to reinstall the whole game when i get my full version from Ebgames. I also heard the retail version will come with 4 client , XP, Vista 32&64 , DX 9&10 support. i dont know if its true tho , i read it on AoC forums.

Yep, DX10 is in but I had to go to video options and change it from DX9 to DX10. I then got a message that I would have to re-start AoC for it to take effect.
