I thought this would be a cool thread to get to know people.
So where did you in-game character name come from?
For me 'Samurang' is basically the korean equivalent term to japanese Samurai. I study korean sword martial art and it is related to that. I like to play knightly, sword wielding characters, so I use that name a lot.

Stiehl, is the name of a dagger of an assassin named Pe Ell in the Scions of Shannara series. I thought it sounded cool so i jacked it.

depending on which game people know me from I've gone by a few names.
Theonate came about during a drunken D&D night. My friends were calling me The Nate at the time and when we decided to make new char for that particular night one of them attempted to make "the Nate" sound more D&D/LotR like....I rocked it through 2 years of FFXI and even had a WoW alt with the name
Naters came from an ex-gf naming my WoW character cuz she thought it would be "cute" to have guild mates say laters naters. Thanks to my boys Kaeden and Lexxen it ended up becoming an irl nick name
My female toons have always been Althina/Phacia(which comes from Lunar Silver Star Story) and Elhaym/Emeralda(which come from Xenogears)

Pop is short for pop tart which i got while playing baseball due to my last name being tart. Most of my names are derivitives of the word pop like papa or popa or whatever.

Gaelan is my favorite name, quite simply.
I have celtic heritage and I really enjoy
gaelic and Irish names, and Gaelan happens to
be my favorite. Just so happens it works for a
fantasy character.
Now Jester, which is the name I use on forums and
in shooters and such, came from a summer camp I attended.
Basically I was old enough that I ended up being friends
with all of the counsellors, and they had all chosen top
gun callsigns as nicknames. I went with Jester because
I like the ring and I like the character from the movie
(even though he only has about 2 lines :P)

Spinoff from a name in 'Full Metal Jacket'.
"We're the LustHog squad. We're real life-takers and heart-breakers." "We shoot 'em full o' holes and fill 'em full 'o lead."

I'm not a big RP'er so when I created a name for my very first MMO char, a trashbin happened to be next to me. Ive been to lazy to change it after that. And by no means does the name reflect upon my personal character.

I just made mine up.
The word Cryonic popped in my head and i derived Cryos from that. Later into Cryoss due to name stealers.

Atrox is latin for cruel, barbaric, or horror
I also go by Tarkol in other MMOs, coming from WoW. Retraz was a Warlock at one point and had an imp named Tarkol, and for whatever reason i named my subsequent characters after him. Also go by Pwnanator in FPS games
